A taste from your trip
Srikalahasti temple and Rahu Ketu pooja
A grand old Shiva temple on the Swarnamukhi river, known all over South India for the Rahu Ketu pooja. Darshan is free. Pooja tickets are bought at the temple counter on the day (Approx Rs 500 to Rs 2,500 by hall), and the pooja itself takes about 45 minutes. Traditional dress, and avoid black clothes. Some families follow the custom of going straight to their stay after this pooja, without visiting another temple. If you do, tell us and we move the Padmavathi temple to Day 2 or Day 3.
If it rains: Srikalahasti and the Padmavathi temple are mostly covered halls and corridors, so rain changes little. The stone floors get slippery, so walk slowly barefoot. If roads flood near the Swarnamukhi river, your driver may take the longer highway.
