Rockfort Ucchi Pillayar Temple
About 400 steps cut into the rock take you up to a Ganesha shrine and a wide view over the city and the Cauvery. Wear shoes you can take off easily and carry water.
If it rains: Rockfort has 400 open steps that turn slippery, so skip the climb in heavy rain and see the Srirangam temple first, which has long covered halls. Take a short break at the hotel and go again when it eases.
