A taste from your trip
Talakona waterfall
The tallest waterfall in Andhra Pradesh, about 82 m (270 ft), inside the Sri Venkateswara National Park. Entry is paid at the forest check post a few km before the falls (included). From the parking it is a walk of about 1.5 km each way over rocks, roots and small streams, so allow 2 to 2.5 hours in all. Bathe only where the forest staff allow it. The forest closes at sunset.
If it rains: Light rain makes Talakona even prettier, but the rocks on the path get very slippery, so walk slowly and hold children's hands. In very heavy rain the forest staff close the falls; then we see the Kapila Theertham waterfall temple and the Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati instead.
