A taste from your trip
Salihundam Buddhist site
Brick stupas and the ruins of a big monastery on a hilltop above the Vamsadhara river, used from about the 2nd to the 12th century. There is a climb up steps to the top, and the view of the river is the reward. Little shade, so carry water and a cap.
If it rains: Rain on this coast usually comes in heavy bursts. Salihundam has open steps that get slippery, so your driver may cut the climb short or skip it, and Kalingapatnam becomes a quick look from the lighthouse side. Srikurmam is mostly under cover, so you can take your time there instead.
