A taste from your trip
Gaganachukki Falls
The Kaveri drops into a deep gorge in a wide horseshoe. You watch from a viewpoint with railings above the falls. The flow is biggest from August to November.
If it rains: Both falls are at their best after rain, but viewpoints are slippery and the Bharachukki steps can be closed for safety, so watch from the top. The coracle will not run in high water. Talakadu sand turns firm and cool in drizzle, which actually makes the walk easier. Somanathapura is open lawn, so take an umbrella and spend longer inside the covered hall.
