A taste from your trip
Veerabhadra Temple and hanging pillar, Lepakshi
A 16th century Vijayanagara temple with painted ceilings, carved halls and one pillar that hangs just above the floor. Shoes come off at the gate. Local guides wait at the gate if you want one, paid directly.
If it rains: Lepakshi temple is mostly covered, so rain does not stop the visit, but the stone floors get slippery, so walk slowly. Skip the Penukonda walk in heavy rain and go straight to Puttaparthi. The ashram programme goes on in the covered Sai Kulwant Hall.
