A taste from your trip
Meenakshi Amman Temple
The great temple of Madurai with its painted towers. Phones stay in the car or at the counter. Cover shoulders and knees, no shorts. The temple closes at 12:30 PM for the afternoon.
If it rains: The Meenakshi temple is fine in rain, as most of it is covered. The Batlagundu ghat is slow in fog, so we leave Madurai a little earlier. Boats stop in heavy rain, so keep the lake for a dry hour or swap it for a hot tea at a lakeside cafe.
