A taste from your trip
Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari
A forest department safari bus takes you through big enclosures with lions, tigers and leopards, then you walk round the small zoo. The afternoon session runs 2:15 PM to 5 PM. Closed on Tuesdays and public holidays.
If it rains: Rain does not stop the safari, as you sit inside the forest department bus, but animals often rest under cover, so be patient. If the downpour is heavy, keep the evening for a long Malnad dinner in Shivamogga instead of walking around town.
