A taste from your trip
Idukki and Cheruthoni dams
Walk or ride a buggy across the top of Cheruthoni Dam and the Idukki arch dam, when KSEB has the dams open to visitors. Open dates change through the year, the dam is shut on Wednesdays and on red alert days, and no cameras are allowed inside. We book your slot online when it is open. Ticket included. If the dams are closed, you see them from Hill View Park instead.
If it rains: The hill road from Kothamangalam is slow in heavy rain, so your driver may leave a little earlier. The dams close on red alert days, and in thick mist Hill View Park and Kalvari Mount show only cloud. If so, check in early, and try Kalvari Mount the next morning before breakfast if the sky clears.
