A taste from your trip
Shakthan Thampuran Palace
An old Kochi royal palace in Kerala and Dutch style, now a museum with bronzes and old coins. Ticket included. Closed on Mondays, and on a Monday you rest at the hotel instead.
If it rains: Athirappilly is at its loudest after rain but the path gets slippery, and the forest department may close it in a downpour, so skip it and reach Thrissur early. The palace museum is indoors. Vadakkunnathan's grounds are open, so carry an umbrella for the walk around.
