A taste from your trip
Kapaleeshwarar Temple
A busy Shiva temple with a tall, colourful gopuram and a big temple tank. It closes around 12 noon, so we come here first. Remove shoes and dress modestly.
If it rains: Most of today is under a roof: the Kapaleeshwarar halls, San Thome Basilica and the Government Museum are all covered, so light rain is fine. If it pours, we give the museum more time and skip Marina Beach, and Fort St George can be a short look from the car. Roads in Chennai flood quickly in heavy rain, so your driver may change the order.
