A taste from your trip
Gaurishvara Temple, Yelandur
A small 16th century Shiva temple with a carved entrance hall hung with chains cut from stone. A quick, quiet stop at the foot of the hills.
If it rains: The drive and both temples work in light rain, but the stone steps at the BR Hills temple get slippery, so take them slowly. Safaris usually still go out in drizzle. In a heavy downpour the naturalist may cut the drive short, and you can enjoy the wildlife film and a hot tea at the camp instead.
